F.A.Q

Selling handmade hoops for dance, locally & at festivals, since 2009

All hoops are push button collapsible, and come with protection tape. Hoops are shipped USPS priority 2 or 3 day mail with $100 insurance and tracking.

Unpacking new hoop:

Let hoops that have been collapsed for shipping, sit for a few hours in a warm place, while disconnected, to "breathe" and reshape themselves before putting together right out of the box. Warping is natural after being collapsed.

What does my order come with?

All taped hoops include protection tape. All hoops receive option for 1 free colored grip tape and are constructed with a single quick-release button to coil down for transport. All orders include sample tapes. All domestic orders shipped USPS Priority mail, trackable and fully insured.

So hoops collapse smaller for traveling?

Most hoops larger than 35” will collapse to half their size. I do not recommend fully collapsing hoops that are smaller than 35inches in diameter. Ideally a hoop should collapse to about 18 to 22". Please do not force them, as the tubing may kink if HDPE or Crack if Polypro. Advice for reconnecting smaller hoops: use your body for leverage, be gentle but firm.

My hoop is warped! How do I reshape it?

If your hoop has gotten out of shape, if you can, let it sit in the sun in temperatures above 74degrees for a while on flat ground then use your hands to gently push it back to normal shape. At the very least, get it to room temperature then use a hair dryer to warm up the tubing. Once warm, push down on your hoop gently to reshape it. Be careful not to press down with your toes by standing on the hoop as you CAN crush it! Also, do not forcefully push your hoop in half as you can kink and crack the tubing. Be gentle, but remember, it is plastic! You may also benefit from watching my video explaining this on the home page.

Hoop Tape Scuffing

Protection tape layer included to help keep your hoop tape nice longer, but scuffing will naturally happen with certain hoop tricks. To avoid scuffing the tape extensively, try to hoop only on more forgiving surfaces such as grass or sand. Concrete will eat up any tape job if dropped or scrapped multiple times, so it is best to practice on friendlier surfaces first. Wedgie moves are especially harmful to taped hoops.

How should I store my hoops?

It is best to store your hoop laying flat in a mid-temperature place, between 50 and 75 degrees temp is ideal. Hanging your hoop can cause it to get a bit out of shape or turn into an egg shape. Sitting in your car or in the sun for prolonged periods of time can cause it to warp. Store hoops in their full circle, flat, shape, do not store in the collapsed form for extended periods to avoid distortion. Under the bed is a great option!
